Advantages of the TUBA procedure over more traditional approaches include:

1. A single small scar is produced in a remote location (the navel) from the breast.
2. The entire procedure takes only 30 to 45 minutes to perform.
3. There is little tissue trauma and virtually no bleeding due to minimal amount of cutting required. This contributes to a shorter recovery.
4. There is less risk of injury to nerves supplying sensation to the nipple area.
5. There is minimal interruption to normal breast tissue.
6. Implants can be placed above or below the chest muscle.
