Meghan before her Makeover

In 2004, Dr. Pound was approached by an Atlanta cosmetic dentist by the name of Cary Goldstein, and the Atlanta radio station 99X to participate in their version of Extreme Makeover. In addition to Cary Goldstein and Dr. Pound, Meri Hurst, fitness and nutrition expert, and Candy Shaw Codner of Jamison Shaw Salon were recruited to carry out the extreme makeover. They called themselves Makeover Atlanta and the project was called the "5 to 9" promotion by 99X (taking someone who was an average "5" on a scale form 1-10 and turning her into a "9".

99X promoted the event and over 200 applications were received. From these, five finalists were selected and evaluated by our team. From this group, we selected Meghan as our makeover recipient. She was 24 years old and has never had any children. Her starting weight was 135 lbs. and she is 5'6. She was specifically interested in rhinoplasty (nose job), cheek implants, breast augmentation, and liposuction. All of which Dr. Pound performed.

After 6 weeks of surgery, dentistry, workouts, and hairstyling/makeup, we presented Meghan to Atlanta at a party sponsored by 99X at American Pie in Sandy Springs. The above pictures show her transformation.
